The best completely non-alcoholic venues

The best completely non-alcoholic venues

Forget cramming yourself into a boozy bar, new dry venues are popping up all over the world. Here are some of the best non-alcoholic venues.

1. Club Soda: London, UK

Club Soda is located in London: 39 Drury Ln, London. They are a bottle shop and a bar there to help people drink more mindfully and live well.

2. Café Sobar: Nottingham, UK

Café Sobar is a café in city centre Nottingham at 22 Friar Ln, Nottingham NG1 6DQ. It was set up by local drug and alcohol charity Double Impact to provide voluntary work experience to those in recovery.

3.The Brink: Liverpool, UK

The Brink is at 15-21 Parr St, Liverpool L1 4JN. They’ve taken alcohol out of the mix to provide a truly welcoming, creative and intelligent space where people from all backgrounds and walks of life can relax.

4. YADA: Derby, UK

YADA, 58 Green Ln, Derby DE1 1RP, an alcohol-free bar and venue in the heart of Derby. The Collective exists to be a radical beacon of hope for the city.

5. Listen Bar: New York, USA

In October 2018, Listen Bar first opened its doors as a 5-day proof-of-concept, taking over an empty bar space in South Williamsburg. Its roaring success proved the time was right!

6. Sans Bar: Austin Texas, USA

Sans Bar is the first alcohol-free bar in Texas owned by Chris Marshall who has been sober since February 16th 2007. He says that Sans Bar is a perfect combination of his passion for celebrating life, and work experience in both counselling and hospitality.

7. Dry Dock: Weymouth, UK

Dry Dock is for those of us who do not drink but still want to go into town and enjoy the atmosphere and benefits of an alcohol-free serving pub, such as darts, pool, quizzes, live music or just a place to meet with friends.

8. Hinterland Alcohol-Free Bar and Cafe: Manchester, UK

Tucked away in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, Hinterland is a calm and creative space offering an alternative to the typical bar scene. Part alcohol-free bar, part vegan café, and part community hub, it’s all about good company, great food, and meaningful connection - no alcohol required. From live music and spoken word nights to creative workshops, Hinterland has quickly become a home for Manchester’s mindful drinkers. We love hosting our SGS events here.

9. The Arc: Bristol, UK

Bristol’s The Arc is all about community, creativity, and conscious connection. A space that welcomes those who create, include and resist, it’s proof that another world really is possible. Sober, not over - this independent venue brings together culture, radio, gigs and a fully sober bar, all built with offcuts, grit and leftover speakers. We love what they’re doing for Bristol’s alcohol-free scene.
