Join Sarah Chamberlain, founder of UnashamED, for a workshop that explores the topic of shame and its connection to alcohol. In this session, Sarah will help you better understand how shame impacts our lives, particularly in the context of alcohol, and offer tools to develop resilience and empowerment on your sobriety journey.
In this workshop, Sarah will cover the following key topics:
- What is shame, how it impacts us, and why we don’t talk about it
- The messy relationship between shame and alcohol
- Developing shame resilience and empowerment
- The workshop will be a safe space, informal, and interactive (as far as you want it to be)

About Sarah Chamberlain:
Sarah Chamberlain is the founder of UnashamED, an organisation dedicated to tackling shame within the education system and beyond. A former teacher, coach, and consultant, she is passionate about education, social mobility, and justice, using her extensive teaching and psychology expertise to create training programmes that help individuals understand and manage shame more effectively. UnashamED primarily supports young people and educators but also delivers programmes for adults, educational staff, and workplaces. In addition, Sarah specialises in helping people in the alcohol-free space untangle their relationship with shame, offering coaching and training to support personal transformation.
She holds an MSc in Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology, where her research focused on the absence of shame awareness in education systems. Through her work, she is bringing the conversation about shame to the table, equipping people with the tools they need to build resilience, confidence, and emotional well-being. Based in the UK, Sarah is committed to education that empowers, not shames, fostering open conversations and systemic change in schools, workplaces, and society.
