Online meetup: Virtual sober club | 13th August

Please note that we operate a no-refund policy. For privacy reasons, Virtual Club calls are not recorded.   

What: A chilled and relaxed group Zoom call where you can connect, share, and support one another, all facilitated by experienced alcohol-free coach Laurie McAllister. Whether you’ve been sober for years or are just starting to reassess your relationship with alcohol, this is a space for honest conversations. We’ll celebrate the wins, share the wobbles, and support each other through the bits in between.

We understand that joining a group setting can feel intimidating, so here’s what to expect: 

  • We always get new faces, so don't worry if it's your first time. 
  • There’s no pressure to speak or introduce yourself if you’d prefer to just sit back and listen - no one will force you to talk! 
  • If you do want to contribute, simply use the "raise hand' function and you'll be invited to unmute
  • You’re welcome to keep your camera off if that makes you feel more comfortable - especially if you’re feeling a bit shy. 
  • That said, we do recommend keeping your camera on to make the most of the experience and help foster a stronger sense of connection with the group. 

This is a judgment-free, supportive environment where you can engage at your own pace.

Time: 7pm - 8pm UK Time

Where: Zoom (You will be sent the Zoom link when you have purchased your ticket.)

When you purchase a ticket, you’ll also get exclusive access to our Sober Girl Society WhatsApp community – a supportive space to connect, share, and grow with like-minded women on the same journey. The WhatsApp link will be sent to you on the day of the event, so keep an eye on your inbox then.

About Laurie:

Laurie is 9 years alcohol-free, after stopping drinking at 25. She’s a trained sober coach, founder of the blog Girl & Tonic and works full time in marketing. PA to a miniature dachshund Margot and a keen yogi, Laurie brings “big sister energy” to calls and is here to support the SGS community in their sober and sober curious journeys.

Please note Sober Club is peer-support led and whilst our host has brief intervention and onward referral training, this is not a substitute for professional or medical help.
